"Starting on Saturday, April 7, the gristmill will resume demonstrations on weekend afternoons from 1-4 p.m. all spring and summer long".

"Once again visitors to Historic Walnford, Upper Freehold, will be able to experience the rumble, clack and whoosh of the site's 19th century gristmill.

Starting on Saturday, April 7, the gristmill will resume demonstrations on weekend afternoons from 1-4 p.m. These free demonstrations continue all spring and summer long through November. Besides the gristmill, the site also features the pre-Revolutionary Waln House, an 1879 carriage house, and an assortment of other structures. While the Waln House is currently closed for interior painting and scheduled to reopen on May 5, the site's other historical buildings are open daily from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

From 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, the site will host A New Broom Sweeps Clean. See this demonstration on how to make brooms, carpet beaters and clothes pins. Then Sunday, May 20 is Walnford Day. This annual celebration of the site features horse-drawn wagons, historic demonstrations and hands-on activities. Admission and parking are free.
